WINZ Childcare Subsidy

A Childcare Subsidy is normally paid for up to 9 hours of childcare a week if you're not working, studying or training for 2-3 year olds.

You may be able to get up to 50 hours a week if you're in one of these situations:

  • working, studying or on an approved training course
  • involved in an activity that Work and Income has asked you to do
  • a shift worker who works nights, seriously ill or disabled
  • caring for a child in hospital or for a child you get the Disability Allowance for.

How much WINZ childcare subsidy depends on:

  • the size of your family
  • your income
  • how many hours a week your child goes to the childcare provider.

Childcare assistance starts from the date the care starts (or from the date you apply if you apply after it starts). All subsidies are paid directly to the childcare provider.

CONTACT US

All 3-5 year old children enrolled at Seeds & Sprouts are eligible for up to 20 Hours FREE ECE.

This is regardless of family income, immigration status or any other reason.

Eligibility starts when a child turns 3 and ends when they start attending school. As children must be enrolled in school by their 6th birthday, the last day that can be claimed as 20 Hours ECE is the day before a child's 6th birthday.

Parents need to have signed the 20 Hours ECE attestation on their child's enrolment form before it can be claimed. 20 Hours ECE can only be claimed from the day a parent has completed and signed the attestation. Parents choose how they allocate 20 Hours ECE for their child, up to the maximum of 6 hours per day and 20 hours per week.
